Prom guide: How to choose prom gown for petite figure

Many petite girls would feel upset when choosing a formal prom gown. It seems that all formal gowns are just designed for tall and slim girls. You think you would miss the best prom dress styles just because you are petite? In fact, there are some prom dress styles that are flattering for petite figures. In fashion and clothing, a petite size is a standard clothing size designed to fit women of shorter height, typically 160 cm or less. Regular female sized clothing is designed for a woman at least 165 cm tall and will not fit a woman of significantly shorter height well. Have you heard of tailored-made dresses? Long prom dresses are dresses that many petite girls would never take into consideration while choosing prom gowns. They thought that short length dress styles are the only way to go for them. High-low dresses are dresses with skirts with higher hem at the front or side and lower hem at the back. You may show a little leg can go along way, along with an asymmetrical hemline, which will make you appear taller. A high-low style will enable you to walk around freely and look elegant at the same time. 

If you are willing to show off your beautiful and slim legs, you may opt for knee length or above the knee dresses. Showing off your skin will make you appear taller. 

Heels are a girl's best "shoe" friend! Wear them when you are getting dressed up and wear more comfortable shoes, like a wedge heel.
